The fiber optic ring is one of the five optical devices of fiber optic gyro, it is the core sensitive device of fiber optic gyro, and its performance plays a decisive role in the static accuracy and full temperature accuracy, and vibration characteristics of the gyro.
The principle of fiber optic gyroscope is called the Sagnac effect in physics. In a closed optical path, two beams of light from the same light source, propagating relative to each other, converging to the same detection point will produce interference, if the closed optical path exists relative to the rotation of inertial space, the beam propagating along the positive and negative directions will produce a difference in optical range, the difference is proportional to the angular velocity of the upper rotation. Using the Photoelectric detector to measure the phase difference to calculate the angular velocity of the meter rotation.
There are various types of fiber optic gyro structures, and its core sensitive element is the bias-preserving fiber ring, whose basic composition includes bias-preserving fiber and skeleton. The deflection-preserving fiber ring is wound symmetrically with four poles and filled with a special sealant to form an all-solid fiber ring coil.
